• Because theatre is a collaborative art form, we seek to build a world-class company of theatre artists (actors, playwrights, designers and directors) who live in Atlanta.
• Because of the rich legacy of literature and music and the history of civil rights in this part of the world, we aspire to give dramatic voice to the most resonant themes of the American South.
• Because we believe there is nothing more community-building in the human canon than the art form of theatre, we are committed to making this a permanent and powerful performing arts institution in the heart of downtown Atlanta.
• Because we believe in our responsibility to be good stewards of the environment and because we want Theatrical Outfit to be a sustainable theater company, we built the Balzer Theater at Herren's, America's first LEED Certified Green Theater, and we will continue to maintain our "green" status in operations.
• Because we believe that the theatre is a critical part of civic discourse and that a free country is only as strong as its citizens are informed, we will cultivate programming that will illuminate and enrich discussion on the most relevant topics of our time and place.
