Clifton Guterman is an Atlanta actor, teacher, producer and casting director. He has performed off-Broadway and at many regional theatres, including Arena Stage, Berkeley Rep, San Jose Rep, California Shakespeare Theatre, Barrington Stage, North Shore Music Theatre, Weston Playhouse and the O’Neill Center. Locally, he has acted with the Alliance, Theatrical Outfit, Actor’s Express, Dad’s Garage and Synchronicity. Clifton was named Broadway World Atlanta’s Best Actor (play) in 2013, is a former Suzi Bass Award nominee and was nominated for a Bay Area Critics Circle Award for his work as Smike in The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickelby at California Shakespeare. He can be seen in numerous feature films, television shows and commercials. Clifton formerly served as the Alliance’s Artistic Assistant and was National New Play Network Producer in Residence at Actor’s Express, where he is an Associate Artist and Teaching Artist. Clifton serves on the Advisory Committee of the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Shulers). He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, serves on the Atlanta Actors’ Equity Liaison Committee, and holds a BA in Drama from the University of Georgia and an MFA in Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Clifton is from Iron City, a teeny tiny town in southwest-GA. He and his husband Chad live in Grant Park and are obsessed with their two Schnauzers.
