Tess Malis Kincaid has a long history as an arts administrator, actor, and director. Her work has been seen here at the Outfit in Dividing the Estate (actor) and The Savannah Disputation (director). Other Atlanta productions have included acting at The Alliance (August: Osage County, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Broke, and the upcoming Shakespeare in Love), Horizon (City of Conversation, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike), True Colors (Exit Strategy, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner), Aurora (Clybourne Park, Betrayal, Body of Water), and directing productions at True Colors (Proof), Stage Door (upcoming: Picnic), Georgia Ensemble, and more. She was an Associate Artist at Georgia Shakespeare where she appeared in many productions (Antony and Cleopatra, Hamlet, Noises Off and more). She has worked at regional theatres across the country including Arena Stage (DC), Marin Theatre Company (CA), North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, and People’s Light (PA). Tess also regularly works in TV/Film (“Greenleaf”- recurring role, “The Have and Have Nots,” “Devious Maids,” “Dead Silent,” “House of Payne,” Sleepless, Finding Steve McQueen). She is honored to have three times received the Suzi Bass Award for Outstanding Lead Actress.
Tess was born in Savannah and grew up in LaGrange with four siblings and her exceptionally talented and loving musician parents, Michael and Barbara. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University and the Alliance Theatre Professional Actor Intern Program. She serves on the Board of the Jo Howarth Noonan Foundation which seeks to promote the work of female theatre artists over 40. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association. Tess is married to actor Mark Kincaid, and they have a beautiful teenage daughter, Barbara.
