“For 50 years the cornerstone of our work has always been the creativity and artistic brilliance of Atlanta artists,” says TO’s Artistic Director Matt Torney. “From humble beginnings in a converted laundromat in Virginia Highlands, to our wonderful theatre on Luckie Street, Theatrical Outfit’s work spans multiple generations of Atlanta talent that are deeply invested in our community. Throughout the season we will tell the incredible story of TO with events that showcase unforgettable work from each decade, and in-depth conversations with the leaders who helped shape Theatrical Outfit’s legacy.”

We are excited to announce 3 special anniversary events!

50TH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS

Join long time TO Artistic Director Tom Key as he shares the tale about creating the mega hit Cotton Patch Gospel alongside Russell Treyz and Harry Chapin. Filled with story, song, and special guests, this is a must-see event that has been 45 years in the “making.”

Celebrate the season with our one-night only cabaret, HOLIDAYS AT HERREN’S – featuring holiday songs, music, poetry and more from some of your favorite Atlanta artists including the return of Phillip DePoy celebrating Appalachian Christmas Homecoming (a former TO holiday tradition).

Kenny Leon & Tom Key reunite for a reading of Athol Fugard’s Blood Knot that has been 28 years in the making! First uniting in 1998 to tell the parable of two brothers who share a one-room shack, Kenny and Tom come together again to celebrate TCTC’s 25th & TO’s 50th Anniversary.
